All sellers selling to consumers located in the European Union are required to provide detailed business information, such as the legal entity, full contact and company information, as well as registration information (e.g. VAT number). The required information should be provided in a designated disclaimer field, which appears on your AbeBooks Storefront on all AbeBooks websites.
Please note that such information is required by both the AbeBooks Bookseller Agreement and EU consumer law. According to the AbeBooks Bookseller Agreement, sellers are solely responsible for the legal compliance of their listings and of the information provided in their account and their Storefront. If you are unsure about which laws apply to your AbeBooks selling activities, we recommend obtaining independent legal advice.
AbeBooks provides you with the ability to display consumer-facing information on your Storefront, through a set of Legal Disclaimers. All sellers must add this information to the “Detailed Seller Information” section to continue listing on AbeBooks:
If you are a company:
If you run your business as an individual:
It is important to note that non-compliance with these requirements or with any applicable law is contrary to the AbeBooks Bookseller Agreement. If you do not comply, your account may be suspended. Please follow the steps below to provide the required information.
